Hello boys, girls, mums, dads and teachers.
Many of the children have now grown up and left school but they still stop and talk to me and tell me the great time we had together. This makes me really happy and reminds me that I am doing something really worthwhile. Music is a very important part of life because it allows us to take a rest from other important things like schoolwork, family and growing up in a world that can bring pressure to all of us. Singing and dancing is a brilliant way to relax and be happy. When I see hundreds of children singing and dancing at my concerts I feel really great inside and it is one of the happiest times of my life. To see so many happy people is such a brilliant feeling. Before I became a singer I used to work in a library! As you know libraries are very quiet places so when I became a singer of children’s songs it was some change! I am so glad I became a singer. When I was at primary school there were many smart children in my class and I am afraid I wasn't one of them! But every single person is great at doing something and I always knew I wanted to sing. So if you think you’re not the smartest person in your class don’t worry- you’re still young and I know you will find your real gifts and talents sometime, just be patient. Many of the songs that I sing have become well known over the years and it’s a great feeling when I sing songs like “I’m in the Mood for Singing”, “ Tingalayo” |”Worms”, “Apples and Bananas”, “Skinnymarink” and “Knees up Mother Brown” to hear everyone singing happily along. Sometimes I even stop singing and just listen to the voices of the audience! It is brilliant! Each and every child is very important and it is my constant wish that your lives are lived in happiness and security. No one has the right to take your happy life away from you and if you feel that someone is trying to do that don’t be afraid to tell someone that you trust. Talking to your family and teachers is very important. So don’t ever hesitate to tell them how you feel. I hope everyone has a lovely summer holiday. You have all worked very hard at school all year and it is time to relax and enjoy some time with family and friends. I know you’ll be careful and always tell your parents and guardians where you are going. Kid’s songs stories and sing-a-long's have been a great interest to me all my life and the more I perform them for my young friends the more I learn myself and the more I enjoy it. My music is great for all kids, It's great for the children to hear the songs they know from the "I cannot go to school today" to the "Incy Wincy Spider" they all love to sing-a-long
However, it is important to work hard at school and always try your best. If you do that you’ll be happy with yourself.
